Gold leaf & textile : 1960’s Gilded kimono, May 2017

This kimono in figured satin silk adorned with gold leaf and embroidery in metallic thread was created in the 1960s and gifted to a member of the Royal Family by the Daughter of the Emperor of Japan. It is now part of the Victoria&Albert Museum.
